Early morning Sunday, June 12, 2011, we received a call from the facilities manager for the County of Berks Courthouse. An HVAC pipe broke on the 6th floor Saturday night, and by the time building maintenance was notified, it had soaked down through to the second floor of the facility. The “All Hands on Deck” call was made, and Compleat Restorations mobilized. In addition Compleat reached out to another DKI company for additional resources, Eastern Diversified Services, from Souderton, PA. More than 50 employees were on site early Sunday morning to begin emergency services.
Issues and Equipment:
Using an infrared camera the building was quickly scoped and all water intrusions were detected. Since this was a working facility, all the facilities, including employee content needed to be boxed and moved to begin demolition. Overall, five floors were affected which included many offices, conference rooms, multiple courtrooms, hallways, and a large auditorium.
